Equality Standard for Sport update
Following a comprehensive review, the Equality Standard for Sport has now been withdrawn. A new Moving to Inclusion Framework has been created to help sport and physical activity and movement organisations work towards embedding inclusivity in every part of their business and ways of working. View the Moving to inclusion website.
The Equality Act 2010 replaced the previous equality strands with a number of protected characteristics. These characteristics are fundamental aspects of a persons life or background, and the Equality Act makes it unlawful for someone to be discriminated against because of one of these characteristics.
Northern Ireland continues to operate separate pieces of legislation for each protected characteristic. Click on the relevant links to view the legislation and alternative resources.
